Wow, I had such a great time recently, channeling my inner hippie with some of my most favorite people in the whole world in the beautiful Palm Springs, CA.  Thanks to Mimi and Papa for coming all the way to Nashville to keep the kids while we headed out west for a few days!  This was originally planned as a surprise birthday trip for a couple of guys in our group…I’ll spare you the details of how I let the whole thing slip.  Leave it to me to completely spoil the surprise.  But hey, I’m only human!

I have to credit my amazing friend Valerie at Valerie Henderson Photography  and Red Dirt Style (she’s a girl of many talents) for most of these photos.  Thanks so much for capturing our trip!  And thanks for putting the trip together in the first place!

We landed in L.A. and had a little extra time before check-in so we headed to Venice Beach to take in the sights, sounds, and sun.  The weather was a little unseasonably cool but absolutely gorgeous nonetheless.  Brunch at Eggslut was delicious.  I highly recommend, in spite of the name 😉

Here is the whole group in front of our INCREDIBLE Palm Springs rental.  (Although this pic was actually taken as we were checking out…tear.)

Love that my friends were so open to my meditation and yoga suggestions!  Special thanks here to Waylon for providing the fart noises in the background (insert eye roll).

AND THEN…

I must say, I think the favorite of all of ours was visiting Joshua Tree National Park.  Words can’t describe the spectacular scenery so I’ll just let the pictures do the talking.

I feel so blessed to do life with so many wonderful people, and I will always cherish this time I spent with this particular group.  I can’t count how many times I laughed until I cried.  Good people.  Good times.  Good God, we did the damn thing!
